Steve served as the mixing engineer and system technician for "American Idiot" at Shenandoah University. Steve was primarily responsible for mixing the band; microphone placement and maintenance for the band, microphone maintenance for wireless packs. Steve also maintained all rehearsal notes and records for the sound department.

Building on the success of Carmina Burana, Te Deum featured a slightly smaller performance ensemble (5 less performers). Stage Management duties included running live sound for the directors commentaries, stage setup, and crew management. Production Management responsibilities included assisting Audio Engineer Josh Pare with hanging a microphone array (Schoeps KFM 6 and a Decca Tree of Shure KSM 44s). 

Shenandoah Conservatory & Wynton Marsalis: The Blue's Symphony

    Assistant Production Manager for Shenandoah Conservatory. 

Shenandoah University and Washington Performing Arts partnered to premiere the revised "Blue's Symphony" at Strathmore. Wynton also completed an extensive residency at Shenandoah.  Steve served as the assistant production manager; managing the move to and from Strathmore, and coordinating logistics for production needs during Wynton's residency. 

Steve also stage managed Marsalis' lecture as part of the "American Icons" series at Shenandoah.

Shenandoah Student Life sponsored this service featuring guest speaker Gil Caldwell and a choir of Shenandoah Students, Faculty, and Staff. Steve was responsible for live sound reinforcement in the venue, and broadcast audio for streaming video. This show was mixed on the Souncraft SI Expression Console.

This Shenandoah Conservatory Performance featured a variety of music showcasing wind ensemble and electronics. Steve served as the sound designer, working along side Harry Post building a system that could meet the dynamic needs of "Ecstatic Waters" and the other pieces on the program. This performance also featured lighting design by Michael Jonz Jones.

Summer At Friends: Camp Closing Ceremony

Wrote, designed, and managed the Camp Closing Ceremony. Highlights included videos, musical numbers, video presentations, several choreographed camper dances, and several combined choral numbers. Additional highlights included a video/live action introduction of the school mascot and camp director.  Estimated Audience: 430.

   Stage Manager and Archive Recording Engineer

Any production of Carmina Burana is big deal. The sheer number of of performers necessitates a special attention to detail. Steve served as the stage manager for both performances of Carmina Burana, configuring seating arrangements, and ensuring that performers were able to easily enter and exit the stage. Steve also served as the archive recording engineer for this event, and worked with head engineer David Angell and students in Shenandoah's remote recording practicum on the recording. 

Summer at Friends: Staff training and policy development

   Friends School of Baltimore

   Asst. Director of Day Camps

Actively participated in the development of a new staff training program for Summer 2015. The new format sought to provide increased clarity of state regulations and camp rules, while also addressing "camp culture". The format encourages peer interaction, while promoting individual accountability for mastery of content.  This overhaul also included the implementation of an electronic time keeping system, and a significant revision of published documents distributed to campers and staff. 

Lines & Circles: The Music of Alan Baylock

    Stage Manager and Lighting Designer. 

This Shenandoah Conservatory Performance featured original music by Alan Baylock, conducted by Alan Baylock and performed by the Shenandoah University Jazz Ensemble. Steve served as the stage manager and lighting designer, using the theatrical lighting to increase the effect of the solo piano which open and closed the the performance.

Mid-Atlantic Music Invitational 

    Shenandoah Conservatory at Shenandoah University

    January 2013, 2014, 2015, & 2016.

   Stage Manager and Logistics Coordinator

Steve served as the stage manager for the 2015 and 2016 Mid-Atlantic Music Invitational, and previously served as the logistics coordinator for the Collage Concert and stage manager for the student performances (2013 and 2014). The Collage concert features a "rapid-fire" performance roster staged so that the end of each performance coincides immediately with the beginning of the next. Steve's primary responsibilities included deciding the program order, managing performer transitions, and overseeing the theatrical lighting and sound departments for these events.
